Many orthodontic consultants say that the national average for treatment time is about 24 months. At Bruner Orthodontics we are able to consistently finish orthodontic treatment in 18 months!

How many appointments does orthodontic treatment take?

The national average for appointments is between 22-24 appointments, according to orthodontic consultants Charlene White and LeeAnn Peniche. We are proud to tell you that due to our diligent work, continual staff training, and persistent patient education, we at Bruner Orthodontics have an average of 12.9 appointments for orthodontic treatment!

What!? How can you guys have great results in such a short time with less appointments than the national average?

Here are the three biggest keys to our patient’s success:

1. Brush your teeth. Simply put Dr. Bruner asks his patients to brush like a champ. Brush after every meal. Brush 3 or 4 times a day!
2. Be careful of your braces. In orthodontics, we call braces orthodontic appliances. For treatment to go well and keep moving toward your goals you need to keep your braces on. Some patients break their appliances by not being careful with what they are eating. See our list of suggested food items on our web page. Most patients don’t break any of their appliances during their treatment!
3. Wear your elastics all the time. Dr. Bruner loves to joke around with his patients. With regard to elastics he tells them things like, “As long as you are breathing, you should have your elastics in.” He can also be heard saying, “Wear your elastics 25 hours per day and you will do great.”
